I know what you’re thinking, you don’t want to miss this news!
I get it.
This week’s big news from the NBA forum is that Oklahoma State is in the running for the #1 seed in the Big 12.
We’ve heard this for years now, but it’s nice to see it finally happening.
But there’s one problem: the Thunder are actually #2 in the league.
If you want to hear why I believe this, watch the video below.
Oklahoma State has had some issues over the past couple of seasons, but I believe the team has improved and is in a better place than it was last season.
The Thunder won nine games in the first half of the season.
Oklahoma State lost six games in that span and finished the season with a winning record in league play.
Oklahoma is currently 8-0 this season, but this will be the team’s first conference tournament appearance since 2012.
Oklahoma has had a lot of success on the road, going 14-5 in the past 20 games.
Oklahoma’s win over Texas A&M is their best home game of the year so far.
I’m expecting a lot from Oklahoma this week.
Oklahomans head coach Tom Gundy has his team playing in a tough conference, so this game will be important.
The Sooners are currently 11-6 at home.
This should be a close game for Oklahoma, but the Thunder should come out on top.
Oklahoma won this game on their way to beating LSU in the Sweet 16, so they’re not going to let this one go.
Oklahoma will need to get this game out of the way fast if they want to beat the Thunder.
Okok, this is the BIG EYE, but we can’t let this game get away from us.
The last time Oklahoma State faced Oklahoma in a conference tournament, the Sooners were upset by the Soonies in the second round.
The two teams have met once before in the conference tournament.
Oklahoma defeated Oklahoma State by 27 points on Dec. 3, 2012.
If Oklahoma is going to take this one, I believe Oklahoma State needs to come out and dominate.
Oklahoma leads the conference in 3-point field goals made per game at 32.5, but they’ve made just 36.7% of their 3-pointers.
Oklahoma shot just 39.6% on 2-point attempts this season.
If they can score in bunches and take care of the ball, they’ll have a chance to win this one.
Oklahoma fans will be watching closely this week, but a win will definitely put Oklahoma in the conversation for the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Okomos season has been an utter disappointment to say the least, and it looks like the fans want this team back in the playoff conversation.
But we all know Oklahoma isn’t going to come through against Oklahoma State, so it’s important that we get to the second weekend of the Big Ten tournament before this series shifts into a doubleheader.
Okonamamas second win in the NCAA Tournament came against Indiana State on Dec., 5, 2018.
The loss dropped the Soonams to a 3-8 record, but that didn’t stop the fans from showing their support.
The crowd was loud and the atmosphere was electric.
Oklahoma made it into the NCAA finals that year, but lost to the eventual champion Michigan State.
If the Thunder can get the wins over the Soonads this week and take this series, it’s not out of reach.
OkOklahoma is coming off a thrilling win over Ohio State on Thursday, but another win over Indiana State will be huge for the Thunder this week as well.
If this series gets to the semifinals, this series could be the best one ever played in Oklahoma.
Okahomans second loss of the series came on Dec, 5, 2021, in Indianapolis.
The Buckeyes were playing the Soonons in the national championship game and were looking for a big win.
The Hoosiers won this one 97-93.
Oklahoma had some key mistakes in this game, but its the biggest mistake of the entire game.
The entire Hoosier team was injured, but no one was called for a foul in the loss.
Oklahoma needs to win three of its next four games to get back into the conference semifinals.
