Posted November 13, 2018 05:02:04 A museum of New York City skyscrapers is opening to the public in mid December.
The museum is being opened by artist and architect David Katz, who is known for his sculptures of buildings around the world.
The first exhibition of his work is scheduled to open on Dec. 18.
The exhibit includes three new skyscraping sculptures by Katz, one of which is a miniature replica of the iconic Chrysler Building in New York.
The artist is also collaborating with architect Norman Foster and landscape architect Daniel Lauer on a building that will eventually be used as a hotel.
The other two buildings are in the Bronx and Staten Island, which Katz has used as an inspiration for his sculpture.
“I think this is the beginning of a big new chapter in New England’s history,” Katz said in a press release.
“We’re looking forward to a lot of people walking through this museum.”
The museum has been open for several years, and Katz plans to open it to the general public for the first time on Dec 18.
