When it comes to EverQuest, there are two options to install it on your Mac: the standard method (install the game) and the “full install” method (which includes Dawnguard).
The “full” install method is basically a direct install, meaning you’ll need to follow the installation instructions on every step of the way.
In my case, I opted to follow these instructions.
To install Everquest: Dawnguards, open up a terminal window, and type in the following command: cd ~ /Downloads/EverQuest_Dawnguard_Install.zip (replace ~ with the path to the directory you want to install the game to) cd EverQuest_Install You should see the EverQuest installation folder open up in your Finder.
You’ll want to navigate to the folder you downloaded the Everquest installer from and double-click on the EverSearch.exe file.
It will open up the Ever Quest installer, and the next step is to click on the option that says “Install Now”.
Once you do that, you’ll be taken to a new window that will ask you for your username and password.
After entering that information, click the next button and you’re now going to enter your password.
Once you do, you will be taken into a new folder that you’ll have to move to before you can begin.
Once this folder is moved, the Ever Search.exe program will open and you will see an entry that reads “Welcome to EverSearch”.
You’re now ready to install Dawnguard.
Press the next option and you’ll get to the “Configure” section.
Enter your EverSearch username and passwords and then click the “Next” button.
Now, click on “Install” and you should be able to go back to the Eversearch.exe window that was opened up.
The EverSearch will ask for your EverQuest login and password, and you can type them in.
Your EverQuest install will begin.
The EverSearch window will close.
As you can see, there is a lot going on here, but you’ll want your Everquest install to finish before you head out into the world of Everquest.
You should now be able log in to Everquest and see a list of the quests you can accept from the Dawnguard quest chain.
You’ll be able then go to the quest “The Forgotten Realms” and accept it.
Once you’ve accepted the quest, you can start reading the quest log and reading through the journal entries for the EverHunt quest.
Now, it’s time to head back to Eversearch, and select “Continue”.
You will now see a screen similar to the one below.
From here, you should see a message like this: Welcome to Dawnguard!
You can read the journal entry below this screen to get a better idea of what is going on with Dawnguard, but the important thing to know is that the next screen will ask whether or not you want your quest to be completed or not.
If you want the quest to finish, click “Continue” and then the screen will say “This quest will be completed.”
Once Dawnguard is finished, the last time you’ll see the message “Welcome back to Neverwinter” will appear in your Eversearch log.
It will now be time to go into Everquest, and to your Ever Search window, you just need to select “Exit”.
As you might expect, you may have noticed that the EverFind window now has an option to “Continue All” instead of just “Done”.
The next time you log into EverQuest and want to go forward in the quest chain, you must select “Yes” when asked if you want Dawnguard to finish.
And as a final reminder, you need to be logged in as your EverHunt username and/or password to complete the quest.
So to recap: Install EverQuest Dawnguard and then go into Neverwinter.
After you’ve finished Dawnguard: The Forgotten Realms, you are now logged into Eversearch and you are able to accept the quest of “The Last Hunt.”
Congratulations, you now have Dawnguard installed.
