The downside of PIGes is that they typically require a lot of maintenance to be run, as they need to be constantly inspected to make sure they aren’t leaking or leaking badly.
While these types of engines are safe, they are also quite expensive to run, and if you have a PEG engine, you can expect to pay between $1,500 and $3,000 for the parts and labor to run and maintain.

In addition to the power, you may want to look at the weight of the PPG engine as well.
Most PIGs come in at about 3,500 pounds, which translates to about 927 pounds of engine power, or about 603 lbs.
A typical PIG weighs about 6,500 to 7,000 pounds.
If your PPG has a big twin-turbo V6 or a turbocharged V8, you should be able put that power to good use.
If the engine is built using a naturally-aspirated engine, such as the Porsche 918, you are probably going to need to upgrade the air-to-fuel ratio to make it more efficient.
This will also make the engine lighter.
The good news is that you can build a lighter engine using the same basic components
